Simon Stewart-Smith

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Simon began his career with a toolmaking apprenticeship followed by a decade of hands on toolmaking work. He then moved into the Automotive Industry as a Tooling Engineer progressing to senior roles in Project Management, Sales and Account Management.

In 2016 he joined Amies as Technical Manager becoming M.D in August 2022.

Outside of work Simon enjoys socialising, travel, mountain biking and DIY projects.

Terry Millward

WORKS DIRECTOR

Terry joined Amies in 2008 as Works Manager, bringing with him a strong background in Processing, Maintenance and Production Management gained across several industry sectors.

Responsible for all shop floor activity and site maintenance, it’s fair to say Terry and his team are the engine that powers Amies day to day.

Outside of work Terry is a serial DIY’er on an epic scale that the term ‘DIY’ does not really do justice to, along with being a keen fisherman, mountain biker and caravaner.

Stuart Taylor

Technical Sales Manager

An apprentice trained Toolmaker, Stuart progressed to Toolroom Manager, Automotive Tooling Engineer, Hot Runner and Toolmaking Sales. Most recently he was Lead Technician for a very well known company travelling the globe installing, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintaining high cavitation FMCG moulds.

He joined Amies in June 2023 as Technical Sales Manager, taking the lead on all quotations and utilising his extensive experience to support the Technical team.

Clare Cooper

QUALITY MANAGER

Clare joined Amies in 2008 having previously held quality roles in the Textile industry and more recently at a Japanese Automotive OEM.

Outside of work Clare can usually be found running or cycling whenever possible in her spiritual home of the Lake District.

Andrew Siddons

TOOLING DEVELOPMENT ENGINEEER

Andrew joined Amies team in June 2022 and has had a long and varied career in injection moulding.

Outside of work he enjoys socialising with family and friends and also walking his very demanding dog in the countryside.

Kelly Orme

OFFICE MANAGER

Joined Amies in 2020 as Office Manager.

When not at work, Kelly enjoys spending time with family and friends. She can often be found away with her caravan, along with her daughter and two dogs.

Ian Wilson

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Ian joined Amies in July 2018 as Production Manager, supporting customers in respect of orders, planning internal production and managing our raw material supply chain.

Prior to joining Amies, Ian built up extensive supply chain management experience in a manufacturing business to which Amies was a supplier.

Outside of work, Ian is a keen cricketer, football fan (both proper football and American Football) and a busy family man.

Ian Fletcher

QUALITY TECHNICIAN

Ian joined Amies in 2016 having previously worked in a similar roler in the Foundry industry.

Outside of work Ian spends his time on DIY, cycling and endlessly fixing his sons cars.

Toby Epton

Lead NPI Engineer

Toby joined Amies in July 2020 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a number of years experience as an Engineer at a Japanese Automotive Component Company. Focusing on new projects, Toby takes the lead on Moldflow analysis, CAD, DFM and Project Management.

Outside of work, Toby is a keen climber and also spends considerable time hiking with his dogs in the Peak District.

Kathryn Mowbray

ASSEMBLY SUPERVISOR

Kathryn joined Amies in 1984 making her one of two Amies employees who have been with the company for 40 years.

After work you will most likely find her in her creative room making cards and artwork (super talented).
