Amies have suitable equipment to process a wide range of thermoplastic materials from Commodity grades such as PP through the full range of Engineering Resins right up to the most demanding and costly High Temperature resins such as PEEK and a number of niche specialities such as Detectable, Static Dissipative and Thermally Conductive.
Additionally we are deeply involved in the development of the latest generation of 100% Organic, Sustainably produced, Home Compostable Bio-Plastics with a wide range of exciting potential applications.

Amies Technical Plastics Materials

Materials

In response to market demand from the pharmaceutical manufacturing industries, we can now injection mould many polymers in a form which makes the component detectable using standard metal detecting or X-ray equipment.

Where customers source and manage the prototyping on their project via Amies, we are able to offer the full benefit of our expertise and take responsibility for ensuring this aspect delivers the optimum result.

Plastic Injection Moulding Engineering Polymers

Plastic injection moulding is a popular manufacturing process where molten plastic material is injected into a mould cavity to form a desired shape. Engineering polymers typically refer to high-performance plastics that exhibit superior mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties, making them ideal for applications requiring high strength, heat resistance, or durability.

These materials are commonly used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and medical devices due to their ability to meet stringent performance requirements.

If advice on the selection of materials is required we can offer in house assistance or bring in the relevant manufacturer to ensure an optimum solution.

Amies work with a wide range of customers, from those with substantial in-house design capability and/or regulatory requirements and a clear idea of the material they wish to use, right across the spectrum to those who do not have a clear idea and require guidance.

Providing our clients with the benefit of our extensive experience supported by our Moldflow capabilities to either evaluate the suitability of a selected material or advise suitable options.
